Tūrangi Thropy 2024 Results

This weekend we went down to beautiful Tūrangi on the shores of Lake Taupō for Thropy 2024, the North Island Novice tournament! 12 teams, 12 trainees and 11 judges all had a great time, learnt lots about debating and developed over the weekend, and made friendships with each other as well as the squads from Waikato and Victoria!


We had many achievements to celebrate!
💡 Turn those lights OFF (Krishin Cox, Blake Bain, and Uday Jain) WON the tournament and took home the Thropy!!
❄️ It’s freezing – we need global warming (Eve French, Virginia Quartermain, and Joe Howells) broke 1st and did an excellent job in their semi-final!
🔢 Stop the count!!! (Rebecca Huang, Chloe Sim, and Henry Isac) broke 3rd and were superb in their semi!


Congratulations as well to James, Saad and Xandi from Victoria for an exceptional performance and making the grand final so high quality!

💛 Chloe Sim was the 3rd best reply speaker!
